The Book's Story

“a rallying cry from the trenches of maternal mental illness”

In 2014, after the birth of my daughter, I was hit swiftly and fiercely by the symptoms of perinatal mood and anxiety disorders (PMADs). I was fortunate in that I received quick, effective treatment in the form of medication, therapy, and support groups.

Writing this book was also part of my recovery. The poems are based on lived experience and extensive research I've conducted about PMADs.

If you or someone you know is suffering from perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, these are treatable conditions. Help is available.
